ABOUT PH
The pH is a scale of degree of acidity or alkalinity, it varies from 0 to 14, a pH to 7 is said neutral. A pH of less than 7 is said to be acidic and more than 7 is said to be alkaline (also known as Basic). The ideal urinary pH of a cat should be between 6.2 and 6.4. CATWATER – urinary formula has been developed for the specific needs of the cat and therefore proposes a pH perfectly balanced between 6.2 and 6.4 and thus offers a slightly acidic water.
The water we consume every day usually has a pH between 7.2 and 7.8, which is a water that is too alkaline for the needs of cats. Distilled water sold in large areas has a pH of about 5.4 and is too acidic for cats. It should be remembered that a urinary pH too low or too high in the cat potentially leads to the development of struvite crystals, or calcium oxalates that can be very painful for the animal.
With a pH between 6.2 and 6.4, CATWATER offers the best conditions to promote the health of the urinary system and minimizes the risk of urinary problems of your cat.
